Everyday activities
Simple activities that happen around homes, streets, schools, workplaces and other everyday environments.
REAL-WORLD VIDEO
Dabbies collects video from real environments, real people and everyday situations to help technology understand how the world actually moves.
START CONTRIBUTING ↗WHY VIDEO
Video gives AI systems access to something a still image cannot: movement, sequence, interaction and change over time.
From people performing ordinary activities to objects moving through physical spaces, video helps technology learn how events unfold in the real world.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Simple activities that happen around homes, streets, schools, workplaces and other everyday environments.
Videos showing how people interact with ordinary objects, tools, products and physical environments.
Natural movement and sequences that can help technology understand actions and physical changes.
Different environments and conditions that represent the diversity of everyday life across Africa and beyond.
THE CONTRIBUTOR EXPERIENCE
Dabbies is interested in reality as it is. A phone camera, a familiar environment and a genuine moment can produce useful data.
When a video task becomes available, you'll see exactly what is required before you begin.
QUALITY
The subject of the task should be visible and understandable.
Record the video yourself. Do not submit downloaded or AI-generated footage.
Follow the task exactly. A technically good video can still fail if it does not answer the task.
Respect people's privacy, safety and personal boundaries when recording.
RESPONSIBILITY
Video can capture more information than intended. Faces, conversations, locations, documents and other personal details may appear inside a recording.
Contributors should follow every task instruction carefully and avoid recording private or sensitive situations unless a task explicitly requires it and provides the appropriate instructions.
If you're unsure whether something is appropriate to record, don't record it.
POSSIBILITIES
Sequences showing ordinary actions and activities.
Objects being moved, handled or used in real environments.
Real spaces, surroundings and changing conditions.
Step-by-step activities where sequence matters.
